Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner (/fe̜t/ /ˈvreq˔iz/ [custom] [reservation]) is a temperate Town located in the Skruvnōk Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner was founded by Gibace Nizanrel, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner has a yearly average temperature of 8°C (46°F), with its average temperature during the summer being an icy 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool -10°C (14°F). Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner receives an average of 159 cm/y (62 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3492 m (11456 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner was founded durring the late 13th century in spring of the year 1187, by Gibace Nizanrel. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Gibace Nizanrel.

Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner is buildings are arranged within a network of broad baked earthen streets which form a rectangular grid, where each block verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller block has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is protected by a series of wooden fences ringing the town's parimiter, which are likly intended to keep varrious beasts out of town rather than protect it from attack by any intelegent agents. The bare minimum defences has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.

A look around Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scutteling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine with the abundance of schools, libraries, and other academic structures. Locals can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear the town places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner long.

Civic Infrastructure

Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner.

Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for the combined use of arcuated and trabeated construction, employing arches and constructed with post and lintel. The arch served as the style's chief structural element, with flanking columns serving as buttresses or decorations. While the general shape of their structures could be generously described as simplistic, the use of these arches and columns created a most distinct ascetic which is easily distinguishable on sight to armatures and experts alike.

Due to the actions of local Kami, winter is long in Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner.

The Ice Elemental, Medium near Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner are known to be quite timid.

Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves consuming a local narcotic to channel Elven High Magic energies of tier 3 via oath swearing.

Consequently, its residents speak many languages at a functional level.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner experienced an impossibly long, cold, and stormy winter unlike anything seen before. The worst of the disaster struck The storm coated everything in a thick layer of ice and freezing countless animals, plants, and people to death. Fe̜t Vreqüeiz Ner lost 140 people, and 150 livestock in the disaster.. The disaster is remembered as the Torment Screams, after the sounds of the winds.
